What a financial needs
analysis actually is.
What you would receive. What you would need.
The distance between those numbers is the point.

The whole picture
Five measured needs.
One connected plan.
We read the documents and compare your existing resources with your needs. Each calculation makes its assumptions visible.
Death
Immediate estate costs and debts, then the income your family would need to replace. We account for who receives each benefit and when it may be available.
Permanent impairment
Income from today to retirement, valued in today's money. Retirement savings and insurance benefits are identified separately to avoid counting the same money twice.
Severe illness
An allowance for treatment, travel and time away from work while household costs continue. The guide uses two years of income as its planning basis.
Retirement
Your projected fund value against your retirement income goal. The guide models retirement at 65, with 75% of salary to age 90; your assumptions are agreed and shown in the analysis.
Education
Schooling and further study at the level you want, from government to private or overseas. Costs are projected to the year each child actually starts.
And the document that ties it together: your will.
We check that your will is signed and flag changes needed to reflect your family, assets and wishes.
Start the will questionnaireThe starting point
Six questions worth answering.
These are the details we check against your actual documents.
01If you died tonight, what cash could your family actually access?
The total on a policy schedule is not the same as money available for immediate bills. We separate accessible cash from benefits that still need a claim, a fund decision or estate administration.
02Does your largest life policy pay your family, or your bank?
A policy ceded to a bank is used as security for a debt. We check the cession, the outstanding balance and the policy terms to establish what, if anything, would remain for your family.
03Whose name is on the beneficiary nomination?
We check the actual nomination on each policy, not just who you intended to name. Missing or outdated details can change the payment route and delay access to the money. The terms of each policy matter.
04Your cover at work is three times which salary?
Workplace benefits may be based on pensionable salary rather than your full earnings. We read your benefit statement, check the salary used and establish what happens to the cover if you leave your employer.
05At 65, how much of your current income could you live on?
We compare your projected retirement savings with the income you want in retirement. Contributions, inflation, returns, fees and the years you need the money to last are stated as assumptions, so you can see what drives the result.
06Is your will signed, up to date and consistent with your plan?
A marriage, a new child, a bond or a business interest can change what your will needs to address. We check that a signed will is in place and flag where it needs to be reviewed alongside your nominations and family arrangements.

Costs, cover and
your choices.
What does the analysis cost?
N$ 0, with no obligation to buy anything. Parallax earns commission from the insurer only if you decide to act. The analysis explains where we earn and what the premium buys.
What if I already have cover through work?
Bring your benefit statement. We include those benefits, check which salary they use, and establish what happens if you leave your employer. The analysis considers the cover you already have.
What if I cannot find all my documents?
Send what you have. We help request the missing information from your insurer or fund, with your permission. You do not need to organise everything perfectly before contacting us.
Do I have to accept the recommendations?
No. You can choose all, some or none of them. The free housekeeping fixes stand either way, and you are free to take the analysis to another broker or your accountant.
Are the premiums and projections guaranteed?
No. Projections depend on the stated assumptions. Cover and premiums depend on underwriting and benefit terms, and premiums are formally requoted before any application.
This guide explains the analysis process. It is not personal financial or tax advice. Recommendations depend on your documents, circumstances and the applicable policy terms.
